Background

Society 5.0 identifies as a society that are able to utilize innovations created in the Industrial Revolution 4.0 to solve various challenges and social problems. This also means that Society 5.0 is a technology-based and human-centered social model. This initiative emerged as an effort to anticipate the disruption caused by the Industrial Revolution 4.0 which caused complex and ambiguous uncertainty (Volatile, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity/VUCA). The invasion is feared to erode the human values that have been maintained this far. This is to achieve sustainable community development on a global scale, where digitalization is only a means, and humans remain the main actors of change with their sense of humanity and values.

The role of education in facing the Society 5.0 is in improving human resources. Society needs to be equipped with 21st-century skills which contain six literacy skills (numerical literacy, scientific literacy, information literacy, financial literacy, cultural literacy, and citizenship). Moreover, the society also important to have a character that reflects the Pancasila who are persistent, adaptable, strong leadership, and holds the social and cultural concerns. Life skills and literacy encourage the implementation of becoming lifelong learners to be able to adapt and develop in facing global challenges.

The learning approach in the last two years has transformed towards the application of cybergogy at various levels and educational paths. Numerous educational innovations appear in the process of teaching and learning activities. This innovation is needed in the era of fast-changing technological development. Formal education and diplomas alone are considered insufficient for the future society. The community, especially prospective university graduates, must be able to adapt to changing conditions of employment, market needs, and society. These changes will result in new types of jobs and new opportunities in the future. The old types of jobs will perish and will be shifted to technological innovations. The challenges of the future will focus on skills, and characters. Higher education as an educational institution is also required to be able to produce quality and innovative graduates. In addition, higher education also needs to prepare students to become lifelong learners to master current competencies and prepare graduates for future jobs.

One of the efforts to achieve the above-mentioned targets is to strengthen communication capacity in scientific forums among educators, academics, and practitioners of various fields, especially from education-background which are programmed, sustainable, and comprehensive. This activity will begin with the implementation of coaching on writing scientific articles for reputable proceedings, followed by a panel session with several speakers and a parallel at the main day of the conference. The goal of this activity is to create an educational scientific forum that focused on discussion, namely on collaborative technological innovations in order to create a characterized lifelong learning community.
